<p><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'andale mono', monospace; background-color: #ffffff;">Sehr geehrte Medienschaffende,</span><br style="font-size: 13px; font-family: monospace; background-color: #ffffff;" /><br style="font-size: 13px; font-family: monospace; background-color: #ffffff;" /><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'andale mono', monospace; background-color: #ffffff;">der freie zusammenschluss von student*innenschaften (fzs) e.V., die bundesweite Studierendenvertretung äußert sich gemeinsam mit einem breiten Bündnis zur weiteren Verzögerung der angekündigten</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'andale mono', monospace; background-color: #ffffff;"> BAföG-Reform. </span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'andale mono', monospace; background-color: #ffffff;">Der fzs beobachtet diese Entwicklung mit großer Sorge und sieht damit den sozial gerechten Zugang zu Bildung akut gefährdet. </span></p>

<p style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-family: 'andale mono', monospace; font-size: 10pt;">Auf seiner 77. Mitgliederversammlung hat der fzs zudem ein umfangreiches Forderungspapier beschlossen, in dem er seine aktuellen Positionen zur Weiterentwicklung des BAföG darlegt. Darin spricht sich der Verband für eine umfassende strukturelle Reform aus, die das BAföG verlässlich, sozial gerecht und niedrigschwellig zugänglich macht.</span></p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Berlin, 6. März 2026.</strong> Mit großer Sorge sehen wir, dass die im Koalitionsvertrag versprochene BAföG-Novelle offenbar im Kabinett feststeckt. Wir fordern die Bundesregierung dringend auf, die Novelle rasch auf den parlamentarischen Weg zu bringen. Dies ist nötig, damit die BAföG-Ämter diese Novelle wie geplant zum Wintersemester 2026/2027 – für das Schüler-BAföG zum Berufsfachschulbeginn 1. August 2026 – umsetzen können und Studierende endlich entlastet werden.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;"> </p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Die stark steigenden Mieten in den Hochschulstädten, die gestiegenen Preise für Lebensmittel und Energie setzen der jungen Generation enorm zu. Mindestens müssen die versprochenen BAföG-Verbesserungen bei den Bedarfssätzen, der Wohnkostenpauschale und den Freibeträgen realisiert werden. Auch muss das BAföG dringend einfacher und digitaler werden. Es muss zu einem Leuchtturmprojekt der Staatsmodernisierung gemacht werden.</p>

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Es wäre ein fatales Zeichen, wenn die Regierungsparteien ihr BAföG-Versprechen aus dem Koalitionsvertrag nicht einhalten. Alle demokratischen Parteien müssen deutlich machen, dass sie die Anliegen der jungen Generation ernstnehmen. Die Bundestagswahl 2025 hat gezeigt, dass für diese Generation soziale Gerechtigkeit und Bildungsgerechtigkeit zentrale Themen sind.</p>
