Oftmals stehen die nun unvermittelt arbeitslosen Student*innen vor der Frage: Essen oder Miete? Die Petition hat inzwischen die angestrebten 50.000 Unterschriften überschritten. Tausende Student*innen fordern eine unkomplizierte staatliche Unterstützung in Form eines Nothilfefonds, um den aktuellen Einbruch ihrer Studienfinanzierung aufzufangen.</span><a name="magicdomid7"></a><span style=" font-size:0.92em; color:#000000;"><br /></span></p>
<p style=" margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:0px; margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px; -qt-block-indent:0; text-indent:0px; -qt-user-state:0;"><a name="magicdomid8"></a><span style=" font-size:0.92em; color:#000000;">L</span><span style=" font-size:0.92em; color:#000000;">eonie Ackermann aus dem Vorstand des fzs: "Dass Student*innen teilweise am Existenzminimum leben, wird schon lange von den Landes- und Bundesregierungen verdrängt. Mit der Corona-Pandemie und dem damit einhergehenden Jobverlust ist dieses Minimum für manche schon seit über einem Monat unterschritten. Wir brauchen noch im April umsetzbare Lösungsangebote. Die bislang vorgesehenen Änderungen beim BAföG reichen nicht aus. Nur 12 Prozent der Student*innen beziehen BAföG-Leistungen. Nebenverdienste werden oft überhaupt erst notwendig, weil Student*innen nicht förderberechtigt sind. Diese Student*innen stehen nun vor der Frage, wie sie Miete, Internet und Nahrungsmittel bezahlen sollen!"</span><a name="magicdomid9"></a><span style=" font-size:0.92em; color:#000000;"><br /></span></p>

Wenn von diesen auch nur die Hälfte gerade ihren Nebenjob verloren hat, betrifft die Studienfinanzierungsfrage etwa eine Million Student*innen. Nur ein Bruchteil kann durch sich neu eröffnende Jobmöglichkeiten aufgefangen werden. </span></p>

Es ist daher erfreulich, dass Frau Karliczek nun die Notwendigkeit einer unbürokratischen Soforthilfe verstanden hat. Zinslose Darlehen sind aber immer noch Darlehen. Sie bedeuten, dass sich Student*innen unverschuldet verschulden müssen, um Nahrung und Miete zu bezahlen. Mindestens im Falle der Bedürftigkeit müssen daher an Student*innen Zuschüsse ausgezahlt werden. Zuschüsse erfordern insgesamt einen deutlich geringeren Verwaltungsaufwand, sowohl bei der Prüfung der Berechtigung als auch bei der Rückabwicklung. Gerade jetzt muss die Hilfe möglichst schnell bei den Student*innen ankommen." </span></p>

Der Bund hat die Zuständigkeit für die Studienfinanzierung. Das BMBF ist in der Pflicht, eine schnell umsetzbare Lösung vorzulegen. Es ist eine moralische Pflicht, Studierende nicht schlechter zu stellen als andere gesellschaftliche Gruppen. Und dies bedeutet, dass es Zuschüsse geben muss, egal welche Staatsbürgerschaft die Student*innen haben." </span></p>
