21. März 2014 finden bundesweit wieder Veranstaltungen zum Equal Pay
Day statt. Hintergrund des Aktionstags sind die Lohnunterschiede
zwischen Männern und Frauen, die in Deutschland seit Jahren nahezu
unverändert bei insgesamt 22 Prozent liegen. Die Bundesrepublik
bildet damit eines der Schlusslichter in der Europäischen Union, in
der Frauen nach jüngsten Statistiken im Durchschnitt 17 Prozent
weniger verdienen als ihre männlichen Kollegen. Das Datum des
Aktionstags markiert den Zeitraum, den Frauen über das Jahresende
hinaus arbeiten müssen, um auf das Vorjahresgehalt ihrer männlichen
